Liana is the Global Intelligence Manager at Sibylline, based in London (UK). She joined the company in 2019 as the Lead Europe and Eurasia Analyst. In her current role, Liana manages a growing team and oversees the analytical output of the company’s tailored reporting portfolio.

Before joining Sibylline, Liana completed her PhD at Nuffield College, University of Oxford (UK) in 2021, focusing her dissertation on the impact of oligarchs on the initial trajectories of the 2014 separatist crisis in eastern Ukraine. Aside from academia, Liana also worked in management consulting and initially started her professional career in the public sector in the US, at Illinois State.  

Liana also holds an MPhil in Comparative Government from the University of Oxford and a BA in Political Science from DePaul University (Chicago, US). She has been awarded several international fellowships, most recently being selected for the Atlantic Council’s 2025–26 Millennium Fellowship. Liana has authored numerous opinion pieces in her field, with her writing and commentary featured in outlets such as the BBC, Bloomberg, Forbes, the Guardian and others.
