Gareth Westwood is Sibylline’s Head of Global Intelligence. Based in London, U.K. Gareth joined Sibylline in 2022 and leads our global intelligence team responsible for producing the much-loved Sibylline analytical products. He is passionate about building high performing teams, developing innovative intelligence services, and providing a top-notch service to our clients. 

Gareth’s career began with a brief stint in teaching before transitioning to intelligence and security. His previous private sector intelligence experience included establishing and managing the Global Intelligence function at AstraZeneca, a major multinational pharmaceutical firm. Before his tenure at AstraZeneca, Gareth worked within the UK government as a military intelligence specialist and security intelligence advisor, contracted to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).  Whilst serving with the British Military, he undertook senior analytical roles and multiple counter-terrorism tours in Iraq, collaborating closely with elite UK military units. His work with the FCDO saw him based at various UK Diplomatic Missions overseas, including extended assignments in Pakistan and Afghanistan, where he became a recognised regional subject matter expert.

Gareth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Intelligence and International Relations. He is a current military reservist, often dedicating his spare time to support ongoing operations. Gareth is an active member of the Association of International Risk Intelligence Professionals (AIRIP) and The Security Institute. 

Outside of work, Gareth enjoys Cross-Fit training, dog-walking, and conducting his local Brass Band. He resides in Lincolnshire with his family, dogs, and tortoises.
